Introduction
Welcome to InMe, an interactive, story-driven video application (the "App"). We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data.
This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use InMe and outlines your rights and choices regarding privacy.
By using InMe, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
1. Information We Collect
Privacy-First Design
InMe collects and processes only the information necessary to provide our services. Your account data is securely stored on our servers located in the United States to enable features like cloud synchronization and cross-device access.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and will never sell your personal data to third parties.
1.1 Information You Provide
- Account Information: Username and email address (if provided)
- Third-Party Authentication: If you choose to use third-party sign-in, authentication is handled by the respective provider:
- iOS: Sign in with Apple — we receive and store your Apple User ID
- Android: Sign in with Google — we receive and store your Google User ID
These IDs are stored on our servers to manage your account and enable cross-device access.
- Date of Birth: Your full date of birth (used for age verification, zodiac calculation, and personalized story content). You must be at least 18 years old to use InMe.
- Gender Preference: Your selected gender preference (e.g., Men, Women, or Everyone), which may reflect sexual orientation. This data is used solely to personalize character recommendations and content display.
- Interest Tags: Your selected interest and vibe tags (e.g., Romance, Mystery, Cozy), used to recommend characters and stories that match your preferences.
- Payment Information: Payments are processed securely through the platform's native payment system (Apple App Store on iOS, Google Play Store on Android). We do not store payment or credit card information.
1.2 Automatically Processed Information
To enable core app functionality, the App processes limited data, including:
- Story choices and predefined interaction selections
- Story progression status
- In-app currency balance and subscription status
- Session duration and frequency
This data is used solely to support in-app features and is not transmitted for advertising, marketing, or profiling purposes.
1.2.1 Share Feature and Landing Page
InMe allows you to share characters and stories via public share links.
When You Share:
- Share Link Generation: We generate a unique public URL containing:
- Character name and story title (publicly visible)
- A unique share identifier (not linked to your account or personal information)
- System Share Sheet: Sharing uses your device's native share functionality (iOS Share Sheet or Android Share Sheet). We do NOT access or collect:
- Which apps you share to (Messages, Instagram, WhatsApp, etc.)
- Who you share with (contacts, usernames, phone numbers)
- The content of your messages when sharing
When Someone Clicks Your Share Link:
The link opens a web page (landing page) hosted on our servers. This page:
- Displays Public Information: Character name, story title, and promotional content
- Provides Action Buttons: "Open in App" (if InMe is installed) or "Download from App Store / Google Play Store"
- Collects Minimal Analytics: We collect anonymized, non-personal data:
- Number of page views (not who viewed)
- Device type (iOS, Android, Desktop)
- Approximate location (country level only, via IP address)
- Referrer source (which platform the link was shared from, if available)
What We Do NOT Collect from Landing Pages:
- Visitor names, email addresses, or contact information
- Precise location or GPS coordinates
- Device identifiers or advertising IDs
- Browsing history or cross-site tracking data
- Any information that identifies individual visitors
Share Analytics (Your Account):
For users who share content, we collect:
- Number of times you tap the share button
- Which characters/stories you share most often
- Total clicks on your share links (aggregated, not individual visitor data)
This data is used solely to improve the share feature and understand which content resonates with users.
Data Retention:
- Landing page analytics are retained for 90 days, then permanently deleted
- When you delete your account, all share links you created are deactivated within 24 hours
Privacy Notice: Share links are public URLs. Anyone with the link can view the character and story information. If you want to keep your InMe usage private, do not share links.
1.2.2 Content Personalization
We use your registration data to personalize your experience:
- Character Recommendations: Your gender preference and interest tags are used to determine which characters and stories are displayed prominently on the home screen
- Content Ordering: Characters matching your preferences are prioritized in the browse experience
- Automated Decision-Making: This personalization is performed automatically based on the preferences you provided during registration. You can update your preferences at any time in Settings.
1.2.3 Report Data
If you report AI chat messages, we collect:
- The reason(s) you selected for the report (e.g., sexual content, harassment, violence)
- The reported message content and its metadata
- Your account identifier (to prevent duplicate reports)
Report data is used solely to improve content safety and AI prompt moderation. Reports are retained for 180 days, then permanently deleted.
1.2.4 Story Progression Data
Progress indicators in InMe represent fictional narrative progression only. They:
- Do not represent real-world relationships or emotions
- Are used solely to unlock or sequence scripted content
- Are not shared with third parties
- Are not used for behavioral profiling or marketing
1.2.5 AI Chat Data
When you use the AI Chat feature to communicate with AI characters, we collect and process:
- Chat Messages: The text messages you send to AI characters
- Conversation History: Your chat history with each AI character
- Chat Metadata: Session duration, message frequency, and timestamps
How Your Chat Data is Processed:
- Your messages are sent to third-party AI service providers for processing and response generation. Our current provider is Google (Gemini API, based in the United States). We may change AI service providers in the future; this Privacy Policy will be updated accordingly.
- Google processes your messages in accordance with their Gemini API Terms of Service
- Our AI service providers do NOT use your data to train their models (as per their current API data usage policies)
- We do NOT use your chat data to train AI models
- We do NOT manually review your chat conversations
Content Moderation:
- Your messages may be automatically screened for prohibited content (illegal content, harassment, etc.)
- This screening is performed by automated systems, not human reviewers
- Messages that violate our Terms of Service may be blocked or flagged
Chat Data Retention:
- Chat history is stored on our servers to enable conversation continuity
- Chat data is permanently deleted when you delete your account
- Currently, there is no option to delete individual chat messages or conversations without deleting your account
1.2.6 AI Memory System (Derived Personal Data)
To provide a more personalized chat experience, our AI system automatically extracts and stores key information from your conversations. This includes:
- User Preferences: Likes, dislikes, and interests you mention (e.g., "likes cats," "prefers coffee")
- Important Events: Events you mention with time references (e.g., "has a job interview next week")
- Emotional Context: Emotional states you express (e.g., "feeling stressed today")
- Relationship Milestones: Key moments in your interaction with the AI character
How This Data is Used:
- Extracted information is stored as structured data (separate from raw chat messages) to enable the AI to "remember" past conversations
- This data is used solely to generate more relevant and personalized AI responses
- This data is NOT shared with third parties, used for advertising, or used to train AI models
Data Retention:
- AI memory data is permanently deleted when you delete your account
- You may request deletion of AI memory data separately by contacting us at inmeaistory@gmail.com
1.3 Information We Do Not Collect
We do not collect:
- User-generated photos, videos, or voice recordings
- Camera, microphone, or photo library data
- Precise location data
- Contacts or message content
- Biometric information
- Cross-app or cross-website tracking data
- Information about who you share content with or which apps you use to share
- Personal information from visitors who click share links (names, emails, device IDs)
- Your payment information or credit card details (handled exclusively by Apple on iOS, Google on Android)
1.4 Push Notification Data
If you enable push notifications, we collect and process:
- Device Push Token: A unique identifier provided by your device to send notifications
- Notification Preferences: Your choice to enable or disable push notifications
- Notification Interaction History: Records of when notifications are sent, delivered, and interacted with (open/dismiss)
Purpose of Push Notifications:
We may send you push notifications to:
- Remind you about story updates for characters or stories you've engaged with
- Notify you when new story content becomes available
- Re-engage you if you haven't used the app recently
Data Retention:
- Push tokens are automatically deleted when you uninstall the app or revoke notification permissions (via iOS Settings or Android Settings)
- Notification interaction history is retained for 90 days and then permanently deleted
- This data is used solely for improving notification timing and relevance, not for advertising or profiling
2. How We Use Information
2.1 App Functionality
Information processed locally on your device is used to:
- Enable story-based interactions
- Save in-app progress
- Manage subscriptions and in-app currency
- Display appropriate pre-recorded content based on your selections
2.2 App Improvement
We may analyze aggregated, non-identifiable information to:
- Improve app performance
- Fix bugs
- Optimize user experience
- Develop new features
2.3 Customer Support
If you contact us via email (inmeaistory@gmail.com):
- We use your email and message content solely to respond to your request
- Support emails are not linked to in-app usage data
- Support communications are retained only as long as necessary, typically no longer than 90 days
2.4 Push Notifications
If you enable push notifications, we use the collected data to:
- Send Timely Notifications: Deliver story update alerts and re-engagement messages at appropriate times based on your usage patterns
- Respect Frequency Limits: Ensure you receive no more than 3 notifications per day to avoid overwhelming you
- Optimize Timing: Send notifications during your local daytime hours (avoiding late night/early morning)
- Personalize Content: Include character names and story titles you've engaged with to make notifications relevant
Your Control Over Notifications:
You have full control over push notifications:
- iOS: Disable via Settings → InMe → Notifications
- Android: Disable via Settings → Apps → InMe → Notifications
- App Settings: Manage notification preferences at Settings → Notifications (opens system settings)
- Immediate Effect: Changes take effect immediately – no notifications will be sent after you disable them
3. Data Storage and Security
3.1 Data Storage
- Cloud Storage: Your account data, including progress, preferences, and subscription information, is stored on secure servers located in the United States
- Local Cache: Some data may be cached locally on your device for performance purposes
- Video Content: Pre-recorded video content is delivered via secure content delivery networks (CDNs)
3.2 Security Measures
We implement reasonable safeguards, including:
- Secure on-device storage
- Encrypted data transmission for content delivery
- Payments handled exclusively by Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android)
While we take reasonable measures, no system is completely secure. Please keep your device protected.
3.3 Data Retention
- Active Accounts: Your data is retained on our servers while your account is active
- Deleted Accounts: When you delete your account, your data is permanently removed from our servers within 30 days
- Backups: Deleted data may persist in encrypted backups for up to 30 days before permanent deletion
4. Data Sharing and Disclosure
4.1 No Sale of Personal Data
We do not sell, rent, or trade personal information.
4.2 Limited Sharing
In limited circumstances, data may be shared with:
- Apple App Store (iOS) or Google Play Store (Android) for subscription and payment processing
- CDN providers for video delivery (no personal user data shared)
- Legal authorities if required by law
4.3 In-App Purchase Processing
When you purchase Gems through in-app purchase:
- Payment Processing: All payment transactions are processed exclusively by the platform provider (Apple on iOS, Google on Android). We never see or store your credit card information, billing address, or payment method details.
- Purchase Verification: We receive a purchase receipt from the platform to verify your transaction and credit Gems to your account. This receipt contains:
- Transaction ID (a unique identifier for the purchase)
- Product ID (which Gem package you purchased)
- Purchase date and time
- Your platform account ID (encrypted, used only for verification)
- Receipt Storage: Purchase receipts are stored securely on our servers to:
- Prevent duplicate purchases
- Enable purchase restoration across devices
- Provide customer support for purchase issues
- Comply with financial record-keeping requirements
- Cross-Platform Purchases: Purchases made on iOS and Android are independent. Gems purchased on one platform cannot be transferred to or restored on another platform.
- Data Retention: Purchase receipts are retained for 7 years as required by financial regulations, even after account deletion.
4.4 AI Functionality and Transparency
InMe provides two types of AI-powered experiences:
4.4.1 Pre-recorded Video Content
For video-based story interactions:
- All video and dialogue content is pre-recorded and reviewed
- User selections are limited to predefined options
- The App does not generate real-time video or voice content
4.4.2 AI Chat Feature
For text-based chat with AI characters:
- AI responses are generated in real-time by third-party AI service providers. Our current provider is Google (Gemini API, based in the United States). The provider may change over time.
- Your chat messages are transmitted to our AI service provider's servers for processing
- Our AI service provider acts as a data processor on our behalf
- Google does NOT use Gemini API data to train their AI models (as per their current API terms)

4.4.3 Data Protection Commitments
- Personal data is NOT used to train AI models (by us or our AI service providers)
- Chat conversations are NOT manually reviewed by humans
- We implement automated content moderation to filter prohibited content
- User interaction data is not shared with third-party AI providers for purposes other than generating responses
5. Your Privacy Rights
5.1 Access and Portability
You have the right to access and export your personal data:
- Request a copy of your data by contacting us at inmeaistory@gmail.com
- We will provide your data in a structured, machine-readable format
- Requests will be fulfilled within 30 days
5.2 Correction and Updates
Most information can be updated within the App. If you need assistance, contact us.
5.3 Deletion and Account Management
You have full control over your account and data:
Delete Your Account:
- Go to Profile → Settings → Delete Account in the App
- This will permanently delete your account and all associated data from our servers
- If you signed in with Apple, this will also revoke the Apple authentication credential
- If you signed in with Google, this will also revoke the Google authentication credential
- Deletion process completes within 30 days
- Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered
Important Note:
- Simply uninstalling the App does NOT delete your account data from our servers
- To ensure complete deletion, you must use the in-app "Delete Account" feature
5.4 Additional Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights under GDPR, CCPA, or similar laws, including the right to object to or restrict certain processing.
6. Age Restrictions
InMe is intended for users 18 years of age or older.
The App contains fictional narrative content suitable only for mature audiences. We do not knowingly collect information from individuals under 18.
7. International Use
If you access InMe from outside the United States:
- Your data will be transferred to and stored on servers located in the United States
- By using InMe, you consent to this transfer and storage
- We implement appropriate safeguards to protect your data in compliance with applicable privacy laws
- Video content may be delivered via global CDNs for optimal performance
8. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
8.1 In-App
The InMe app (on both iOS and Android) does not use cookies, third-party analytics trackers, or advertising identifiers.
8.2 Share Landing Pages
Our share landing pages (web pages that open when someone clicks a share link) use minimal tracking:
- No Cookies: We do not set cookies or use persistent identifiers
- Server-Side Analytics Only: We collect basic server logs (page views, device type, country) without using client-side tracking scripts
- No Third-Party Trackers: Landing pages do not contain Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party tracking code
- No Cross-Site Tracking: We do not track visitors across websites or link landing page visits to in-app behavior
9. Third-Party Links
The App may contain links to third-party services. We are not responsible for their privacy practices.
10. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in functionality or legal requirements. Updates will be communicated through the App or other appropriate means.
11. Data Breach Notification
In the unlikely event of a data breach affecting your personal information:
- We will notify affected users within 72 hours as required by applicable laws
- Notification will include the nature of the breach and steps we are taking
- We will provide guidance on how to protect your account
- We will report to relevant authorities as required by law

14. App Store Terms
Subscriptions and payments are managed by the respective platform's app store and subject to their terms and policies:
- iOS: Apple App Store — subject to Apple's Terms of Service
- Android: Google Play Store — subject to Google Play's Terms of Service
